How do I obtain a FOID (Firearm Owner’s Identification Card)?

In case you don’t know what it is, a valid FOID card (Firearm Owner’s Identification Card) is something that is required by state law for all Illinois residents who buy or possess firearms or firearm ammunition.

There are a couple different ways to obtain a FOID card application. First, you can pick up an application form at any law enforcement agency (Spring Grove included) or firearm’s dealer. You can also download the application directly from the Illinois State Police web site. The form, along with the $10.00 fee and a photo, is then mailed directly to the Illinois State Police.

Application forms can be picked up at the Spring Grove Police Department Monday - Friday, between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
