Alarm Ordinance
Information
What do I need to know regarding an alarm system?
Like most communities, the Village of Spring Grove has
ordinances that cover alarm systems and false alarms.
Here are some things to remember. First, with only a
couple of exceptions, the village does not allow any
automatic dialing devices directly to the Police or Fire
Department. Second, the alarm shall not make a sound
similar to that of sirens on emergency vehicles or of
civil defense warning systems. Lastly, residential and
business alarm users are allowed only three (3) false
alarms in a fiscal year, May 1st through April 30th. If
you exceed the maximum false alarms in a year, there
will be a fee of $150 per false alarm.
If you have an alarm, please stop by the Police
Department and fill out an emergency alarm registration
form or click the

for form.
The information provided above is only a brief outline
of the alarm ordinance (Ordinance #19, Article I). There
is more information contained in the ordinance that you
should be aware of.
